Aisha Sabatini Sloan’s writing about race and current events is often coupled with analysis of art, film, and pop culture. She earned an MA in Cultural Studies and Studio Art from NYU and an MFA in Creative Nonfiction from the University of Arizona. She is the author of The Fluency of Light: Coming of Age in a Theater of Black and White and Dreaming of Ramadi in Detroit, as well as the forthcoming book-length essay, Borealis, and Captioning the Archives, a collaboration with her father, Lester Sloan. A 2020 recipient of a National Endowment for the Arts fellowship, she is an assistant professor of creative nonfiction at University of Michigan. Find more on her website.

Addie Eliades is a poetry MFA candidate with an Inprint C. Glenn Cambor Fellowship at UH. She was a 2019 Fulbright Fellow in Brazil and she received the University of Virginia's 2017 Rachel St. Paul Poetry Prize. Her writing has appeared in Rumble Fish Quarterly and other publications listed on her website.
Erin L. McCoy is a student in the University of Houston’s Ph.D. program for literature and creative writing, and holds an MFA in creative writing and an MA in Hispanic studies from the University of Washington. She won second place in the 2019–2020 Rougarou Poetry Contest, judged by CAConrad, and her poem, “Futures,” was selected by Natalie Diaz for inclusion in Best New Poets 2017. Her poetry and fiction have been published or are forthcoming in Narrative, Bennington Review, Conjunctions, Pleiades, DIAGRAM, Nimrod International Journal, and other publications. She is acquisitions editor for Seattle-based independent publisher Entre Ríos Books and an assistant poetry editor and fiction reader for Gulf Coast. She is from Louisville, Kentucky.
Brendan Stephens is a PhD candidate at the University of Houston where he serves as the online fiction editor for Gulf Coast. His work has appeared in Epoch, the Southeast Review, Carolina Quarterly, the Notre Dame Review, and elsewhere. Brendan is the recipient of an Inprint Marion Barthelme Prize in Creative Writing, two Inprint Donald Barthelme Prizes, an Into the Void Fiction Award, and a Sequestrum Emerging Writer award.
